Just want to add one more thing is that there appears to be a Folder on the desktop with no title and i can't even open it. I just want to see where these viruses came from so i can relay the information to her and to stay away from these certain Game links. Once gain i am not looking for a thurough removal procedure, because i think it will be a waste of time since i am going to format the computer anyways. She pleads to me that they are legitimate and nothing is wrong, but she does not know that much bout how viruses work. So i am going to give you a full log scan of FRST and i want you to look through the logs and let me know if any of the maleware/viruses that are installed on this machine, originated from any of these "video game" websites she visited. After thorough researching on the web, i found other sources as well relating to Cake mania being an exe program that infects the computer.
I can't verify the legitimacy of this website, just some information i found.
After doing some research, it appears Cake mania is used as one of the top leading add-on's for advertising purposes so i can understand this being used an exploit for the nasty stuff. There are other associated game add-on's that she was not aware of.Īnyways how ever she downloaded these files, obviously came with some sort of bundle packed with other files that are malicious.
There is a certain game online that she loves called "Cake Mania", i believe this to be the culprit but i am not sure. All i want to find out is where these infections she got came from. I actually plan on rebuilding the entire computer and formatting the hard drive so a FULL virus removal diagnostic is not necessary this time.
